The Missouri Wine and Grape Board recently launched the “Wine Your Way” campaign to encourage wine consumers to explore and enjoy Missouri wines. The initiative includes an online tool designed to help individuals find wines that match their unique preferences, whether they are seasoned wine enthusiasts or beginners. This tool, known as the “Palate Profile,” aims to guide users in discovering wines based on their flavor profiles, favorite foods, or even other beverages they enjoy.
The Palate Profile offers four pathways to help users find wine pairings. First, individuals can start with the wine they want to drink and explore food pairings. Alternatively, they can choose another beverage they like and find wines that complement it. The tool also allows users to explore wines based on flavor preferences such as intensity, richness, or taste. Lastly, it gives options based on specific dishes or ingredients, making it versatile and user-friendly for all types of wine drinkers.
The campaign’s message emphasizes that everyone, regardless of their knowledge level, can enjoy Missouri wines with confidence. The Missouri Wine and Grape Board reassures consumers that there is no wrong way to enjoy wine and that the “Wine Your Way” initiative is designed to guide and inspire people at every stage of their wine journey. Whether you’re an expert or new to wine, the goal is to empower individuals to experiment and find what suits their tastes.
One of the unique features of the tool is that it starts with what users know, making it approachable for all. For example, individuals who enjoy coffee with cream and sugar might be directed to try Vignoles, while those who prefer rich soups could explore wines like Chambourcin or Cabernet Franc. The tool also suggests wines for different types of cheeses, such as Vignoles or Vidal Blanc for aged cow’s-milk cheeses, expanding the pairing possibilities.
Jim Anderson, the executive director of the Missouri Wine and Grape Board, emphasized that the campaign is inclusive and judgment-free. The board encourages Missourians to enjoy their wine in their own way, reinforcing the idea that Missouri wines are for everyone. With numerous wine combinations available, the “Wine Your Way” campaign aims to make wine exploration accessible, fun, and personalized for all consumers.
