IndiGo, India’s largest budget airline, has collaborated with Sula Vineyards to introduce premium wine-in-can selections on its international flights. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the onboard experience for passengers traveling on the airline’s newly launched Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in bringing Indian wines to a global audience, positioning them alongside international beverage offerings. By featuring Indian wines, IndiGo is catering to evolving consumer preferences and enhancing its premium service offerings.
Expanding Global Presence with Sula Vineyards
As part of its global expansion strategy, IndiGo has launched wide-body services on the Delhi (DEL)–Bangkok (BKK) route. This new initiative allows travelers to experience some of India’s finest wines while flying internationally. By partnering with Sula Vineyards, IndiGo is not only offering a refined beverage selection but also showcasing the excellence of India’s wine industry. This move aligns with the airline’s broader commitment to elevating passenger experience and promoting Indian products on a global platform.

The airline has introduced two premium wine variants—Sula Chenin Blanc and Sula Red Zinfandel. Sula Chenin Blanc is a crisp and refreshing white wine with tropical fruit notes, offering a smooth finish and balanced acidity. On the other hand, Sula Red Zinfandel is a bold and flavorful red wine with vibrant berry notes and soft tannins. These selections cater to diverse palates, ensuring that passengers have access to high-quality, locally produced beverages during their journey.
A Milestone for Indian Wine on International Skies
Rajeev Samant, Founder and CEO of Sula Vineyards, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in promoting Indian wines globally. He emphasized that this partnership aligns with Sula’s mission of making Indian wines a preferred choice worldwide. By featuring Sula’s premium wines onboard, IndiGo is contributing to the global recognition of Indian viticulture, reinforcing India’s presence in the international wine industry.
IndiGo’s introduction of canned wines is part of its broader effort to enhance passenger comfort and luxury. Currently available for business class passengers, this offering is expected to expand as demand increases. By incorporating high-quality Indian wines into its onboard menu, the airline is not only upgrading its service standards but also supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. As IndiGo continues to grow its international operations, collaborations like this will play a crucial role in shaping the future of in-flight dining, ensuring a more refined and enjoyable travel experience.
