Recently, I had a conversation with a friend working in Napa Valley for a vineyard in which he was asked to give his first tasting though he had never done it before. He was suprised that the age demographic did not include anyone from 21-28. What tastevine and this blog is doing is attempting to grab that demographic and spread wine's influence to post grads. I believe that with Tayloe's recent tastings around the south it is a great idea to create a buzz that not only is wine red or white but that there are many types and differences in which everyone should be happy with at least one flavor of wine. Moreover, wine is essential to "real world" dining esp. in business when following a cocktail at the bar, one does not need to be ording a bud light or a coca-cola but instead possibly a merlot or a cabernet sauvignon. Its simply a mix of elegance and taste that perfectly compliments most meals.
