We’ve worked really hard over the past 6 months to establish our first client Tastevine as its own company, and feel very good about our work. We now feel it’s time to take what we’ve learned and become a more well rounded marketing and technology company. Holistic, I guess you could say… servicing the full holistic lifestyle.

Wine is a big part of this, and so is organic food, natural medicine, renewable consumer goods, social apps & games that bring people together. The whole deal.  We feel this represents who we truly are, as it represents the change we want to see in the world. Furthermore, with the clients we’ve been working with outside of the wine industry, it is clear that a holistic marketplace should be the focus of our services. In talking to people about this growth, we’ve received mixed reviews. Some say we should remain a wine company and others see us becoming something more.

Check out these rough mockups for our banner… a picture says a thousand words as they say. Click the images to see an enlarged view. One attempts to show a big evolution outside of wine and the other shows something more subtle.

Which one is in the right direction? What would you suggest?

    1. Doug Said,

im liking the second banner Greg

    2. Greg Said,

maybe instead of just one static image, we can have something more dynamic and interactive

    3. jake Said,

I like them both a lot, but the second has a really cool feel to it, and I really dig the wine glass on the left side… I think the style/colors could fit in very well with the current site design also.

    4. Greg Said,

ya, the second image is definitely a more subtle upgrade… the first may seem too drastic. however, i want to be able to pitch our services to energy/utility companies for example, and something like the first image would make more sense with the grid feel on the right. maybe to go after these other industries, I’ll have to set up a DBA, thoughts?

    5. Greg Said,

a buddy from SoCal Edison told his superior the name Grape Thinking and they responded favorably, quirky name, but still believable to potentially get their business - a simple search tool to help customers find contractors…

    6. Ruarri Said,

I like the second one too - but they’re both cool… can’t we have multiple banners like http://www.theamateurgourmet.com site used to have: or some blogs I’ve seen have a button where you have 3 skins to choose from… seeing as wine’s different every time you drink it

    7. greg Said,

incredible meeting with IBG monday in Atl, i think Tastevine should absorb Grape Thinking, making it what it always has been — the blog for tastevine… as far as my ‘out of wine’ thoughts and ambitions, that is for a later day and another co. — cheers, i love u guys
