Google recently announced the release of a free safe browsing diagnostic tool. I have been frequently using this as a quick check tool on client’s websites in looking for possible penalties that could be hindering their search engine rankings.

Since it is a useful tool, I figured I would make it easy for you to test your site using Google’s safe browsing diagnostic tool by creating the simple form below.

When i type in one of my domains, krr.org i am shown results which state that Google has not visited my site in the last 90 days. When i check my logs, and Google’s cache, i see evidence that Google has been to my site in the last week, if not within hours. What is being checked to determine Google’s last visit to a domain?

    Thanks… I’m not sure why google is saying they have been to your site in 90 days… I might venture to guess that the spider for malicious content has not been to your site in 90 days, though the spider for indexing content obviously has.

    Okay just a couple of points:

    1) the only way to deal with this problem once you have discovered it is to take your site down, re-upload your files from backup, remove your FTP passwords and create new ones (never use you master account password otherwise you will have to contact your host to change it which could take a while), and then send a reconsideration request to Google (in webmaster tools) explaining what happened and what you have done to remove the problem (they will evaluate your site and hopefully re-index those pages that were dropped).

    2) NEVER post your URL in the comments of a post like this asking for help. WHY? because someone who thinks they can help but doesn’t really understand what this is might actually click on your link and WHAM will have the malware thats infecting your site download onto their machine and possibly their own site. Yes and this means that you shouldn’t even include the website on the form field when writing the comment.

    Come on guys think a little before you post. A nofollow backlink from a comment is not going to do you any favours if Google thinks you are a drive-by downloader. In fact link to enough people in this way with an infected site and they might even think you are doing on purpose then see how long it’ll take you to get your site re-indexed.

    well this app must not be working. I put in several sites and I got exactly the same results. and I KNOW google has visited my sites ( your app say is has NOT) because some sites are new and google has listed them..

There is a possibility that since the sites are new.. that google hasn’t updated there malicious software tool with an index of your site… Also, it never returns a value saying that it has not visited your site.. it says “Google has not visited this site within the past 90 days.”.. so there is also a chance that your site isn’t being spidered very often.. I would be sure and set-up google webmaster tools if you want to diagnose further.
